Many children and young people today come from broken homes. Even the admirable efforts of
the most highly committed single parent can succeed only if the school educates with this
in mind.
The EGG therefore rejects the rigid separation
of students based on narrow performance criteria
(set B in English, set C in Maths, etc.). It also rejects the system by which young
people have a different teacher for every subject.
Instead, we intend to offer as much real
differentiation as possible with as little visible differentiation as necessary.
To this end, every class has a pair of form
tutors (one of each sex, so far as possible), who remain with the class for six years.
During this time, they stay together in their own "maisonette" (form room).
Here, the class is taught, brought up and prepared for life in the wider world.

Just as in any normal family, no-one is
excluded by any special peculiarity. So everyone enjoys their rightful place within
the classroom community. Germans and immigrants, male and female, Christians and Moslems,
fast and slow learners
... Every child enjoys God's
blessing!
